Dr. Wakefield, author of “Callous Disregard” and the world renowned and controversial physician, speaker and autism researcher who first went public with his discovery of a possible causal link between the MMR vaccine, intestinal inflammation, and neurological damage, will appear on The Mother Cub Show, All About Autism with host Susan Lynn Perry on WorldTalk Radio.
WorldTalk Radio, Internet broadcasting pioneer, producing and syndicating online audio and video, today announced that the controversial Dr. Andrew Wakefield, author of Callous Disregard, will join Susan Lynn Perry, host of The Mother Cub Show, All About Autism on the WorldTalk Radio Variety Channel (www.worldtalkradio.com) on Wednesday, January 12, at 8 a.m. Pacific.
Dr. Andrew Wakefield will discuss his new book, Callous Disregard, where he chronicles the events leading up to his discovery of a possible link between vaccines, intestinal inflammation and autism, his publication of those findings, and the resulting loss of his job, his career and his medical license. No matter which side of the fence you’re on in the current global autism debate, you are sure to question your resolve once the facts are uncovered in this ground-breaking interview.
Often touted by the media and government as having unprofessional and irresponsible practices in his research findings, Dr. Wakefield is actually a very thorough, caring and brilliant academic gastroenterologist who, according to his book, was the victim of a medical and governmental conspiracy that will stop at nothing to protect their commercial interests, even at the expense of the overall health and well-being of children.
Dr. Wakefield received his medical degree from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School (part of The University of London) in 1981, and pursued a career in gastrointestinal surgery with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He qualified as Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1985, and in 1996 was awarded a Welcome Trust Traveling Fellowship to study small intestinal transplantation in Toronto, Canada. He was made a Fellow of The Royal College of Pathologists in 2001. He has published over 130 original scientific articles, book chapters, and invited scientific commentaries. Even after the professional and public slaughter of his career, including losing his medical license, Dr. Wakefield doggedly continues to pursue the research that originally brought his name to the public eye.
