The story of how two people meet and fall in love is always fascinating. Is it destiny, chemistry, or just being in the right place at the right time? For Heather Brittany, co-host of the popular World Talk Radio program, StarStyle®-Be the Star You Are!®, (http://www.voiceamerica.com/worldtalkradio/vshow.aspx?sid=764)itwas love on fire!
 In early June, Heather’s mom, Cynthia Brian, ( www.CynthiaBrian.com) was called by a casting director who had been a guest on Cynthia and Heather’s radio show seven years earlier. It had been such a memorable interview with the two World Talk Radio hosts, that when she arrived in Los Angeles to cast an episode of Ultimate Surprises for Yahoo!, she remembered Heather as a worthy young lady. Yasmine asked Cynthia if Heather’s boyfriend was considering a proposal and if he was, would he be interested in sharing the engagement event for worldwide viewing? Cynthia shared the conversation with Heather’s firefighter boyfriend, Brian, who responded with a resounding “I’m in!” He auditioned, won the part, and the clandestine proposal planning began. Brian and Cynthia were secret partners working with the production company for three months telling absolutely no one in order to create the ultimate surprise for Heather.
Their love story is a classic. They grew up less than a mile apart across a creek from one another in a rural town in Northern California, meeting for the first time at age six in kindergarten. Both attended elementary school, junior high, and high school where he was a football star and she was head cheerleader. Although they were friends, they never dated.

After high school graduation, Brian moved to Los Angeles to attend the University of California at Los Angeles and Heather ventured to San Diego State University. During his time at UCLA, Brian interned with a major metropolitan fire department and enjoyed the job so much, that after graduation, he was hired as a paramedic and firefighter. Heather co-hosted the radio program, Starstyle®-Be the Star You Are!®, ( www.StarStyleRadio.com)acted in several films and TV shows, and became a reproductive health specialist at Planned Parenthood in Pacific Beach.

Eight years passed without any correspondence until October of 2010 when a mutual friend sat them next to one another at her wedding. They had such a blast catching up, talking about life growing up, and fantasizing about the day when they may be able to return to their roots, that sparks ignited. Conversations clicked and their hearts skipped a few beats. They became a couple, commuting to see one another for the next two years.

Under the ruse of a business meeting for the radio show and the charity, Be the Star You Are!®, ( www.BTSYA.org) Heather waited on the Shorebreak restaurant balcony in Huntington Beach, California for the supposed “client” to arrive when the waitress informed her that the fire department had been called to check an electrical issue in the kitchen.

As the sirens and horns blared, Heather wondered if the fire was bigger than expected. As the ladder reached the top of the balcony, the firefighter dressed in full turn out gear, jumped out of the bucket, and when you watch the video, you will witness the ultimate romantic surprise with friends, family, and Dolce the firedog in attendance. Everyone agreed that working with the film company was an extremely positive, happy, rewarding experience.

Although they had known one another since they were six, it took twenty years to fall in love. Fairytales do indeed come true!

The past few days have been a whirlwind of excitement for sixteen year old Express Yourself!™ Teen Radio reporter and occasional co-host Katelyn Darrow.  Katelyn, who founded a charity, Angels of God Clothing Closet, (http://www.AngelsofGod.org) when she was just thirteen to help the indigent in her community, was invited to the #Sharpie Hello event in New York where she was presented a check for $10,000 by teen sensation, Ariana Grande to assist with the outreach program for super storm Hurricane Sandy.
