Courtney Cheng and Vivien Lee co-host a girls rule program with an interview with New York Times best selling YA author of the Gallagher Girls, Ally Carter whose books have sold more than 1.8 million copies in fifteen territories worldwide. Our hosts also interview a teen concert promoter of heavy metal bands, Victoria Payne, who has been going to concerts since the age of 12 and talked her way into a promotion job.

Ally Carter’s Gallagher Girls YA spy series is a New York Times bestselling phenomenon.  More than 1.8 million copies of the books are in print, and editions have been sold in fifteen territories world-wide.  Girls have embraced Carter’s heroine, Cameron Morgan, the teenage spy-in-training . Her Gallagher Girls series include I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You; Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy; Don’t Judge a Girl by her Cover; Only the Good Spy Young, and Out of Sight, Out of Time; as well as Heist Society and its sequel Uncommon Criminals.  Ally lives in Oklahoma, where she is cooking up new adventures for the Gallagher Girls.

 

Victoria Payne is a nineteen-year-old college student in music marketing who promotes new young talent in music through blogging and other media….

She works for a promotion company called California Underground, booking shows in the Southern California area at venues such as Chain Reaction in Anaheim, Dipiazzas in Long Beach, and The Epicenter in San Diego. They specialize in heavy metal and hardcore genres and also book bigger festivals such as All-Stars, December to Remember, and Metal Fest. Some of the more well known bands we’ve worked with include We came as Romans, For The Fallen Dreams, Stick To Your Guns, The Great Commission, At The Skylines, and Secrets.
